Curriculum Statement

Our aim is to provide an exceptional education enriched with exciting experiences that inspire and motivate our pupils. Our curriculum follows National Curriculum expectations but is carefully shaped to reflect the needs, identity, and diversity of our school community.

Our vision and values underpin everything we teach, particularly our Five Keys:

  • Community Unity
  • Curiosity and Wonder
  • Hunger to Achieve
  • The Power of Me
  • Being Safe and Responsible

We want every child to develop as a creative, critical thinker with secure, embedded knowledge and the confidence to contribute meaningfully to the world around them.

At Christ the King Catholic Primary School, our curriculum is rooted in our Catholic faith and guided by our mission to nurture the whole child—academically, spiritually, morally, and socially. We are committed to providing a rich, ambitious, and inclusive curriculum that inspires a love of learning and enables every child to succeed.

Our curriculum is carefully designed to build strong foundations from the earliest stages, ensuring that all pupils develop the essential knowledge, skills, and language they need to thrive. Through a well-sequenced and knowledge-rich approach, we enable children to deepen their understanding over time and apply their learning with confidence across a wide range of subjects.

We place a strong emphasis on language development, reading, and communication, recognising these as key drivers of success. Alongside academic achievement, we prioritise pupils’ personal development, ensuring they grow into confident, resilient, and compassionate individuals who reflect our Christian values.

Our curriculum extends beyond the classroom through a wide range of enrichment opportunities and real-world experiences, building cultural capital and broadening pupils’ horizons. We aim to prepare children not only for the next stage of their education, but for life in modern Britain as active, thoughtful, and responsible citizens.

At the heart of our curriculum is the belief that every child can succeed. Through high expectations, inclusive practice, and a commitment to excellence, we ensure all pupils are equipped to fulfil their potential and make a positive contribution to the world.
