Monthly Dedications
Every month, the Church dedicates time to focus on a special event, person, or symbol within the Catholic faith. We join the wider Church in honouring these important themes, helping us to grow in our understanding and faith.
In school, we explore why each month has been dedicated in this way, learn more about its meaning, and create a special display with information, books, and images to support our learning.
- September – The Holy Cross: We reflect on the importance of the Cross and the sacrifice Jesus made for us.
- October – The Rosary: We learn about the Rosary as a powerful prayer that helps us meditate on the life of Jesus and grow closer to Mary.
- November – The Holy Souls: We remember and pray for the souls of the faithful departed.
- December – Advent: We prepare for the coming of Jesus at Christmas.
- January – The Holy Name of Jesus: We honour the power and holiness of Jesus’ name and what it means in our lives.
- February – The Holy Family: We look to Jesus, Mary, and Joseph as the perfect example of love and family life.
- March – St Joseph: We learn about St Joseph’s faithfulness and his role as protector of Jesus and Mary.
- April – The Blessed Sacrament: We focus on the Eucharist as the source and summit of our faith.
- May – Mary, Mother of God: We honour Mary and reflect on her obedience, love, and role in the Church.
- June – The Sacred Heart of Jesus: We reflect on Jesus’ great love for us, shown through His Sacred Heart.
- July – The Precious Blood: We remember how Jesus’ blood was shed for our salvation and brings us new life.
Through these monthly dedications, we deepen our faith and understanding while celebrating alongside the global Church.
