Inclusion

Inclusion at Christ the King

All the teachers at Christ the King are teachers of children with Special Educational Needs. Christ the King adopts a 'whole school approach' to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) that involves all staff adhering to a model of good practice based on quality first teaching. The staff of the school are committed to identifying and providing for the needs of all children in a wholly inclusive environment. Inclusion is given high priority throughout the school. We also work in partnership with a range of outside agencies to support our children including Speech & Language Therapists, Educational Psychologists, CAMHS, School Health and Outreach Services and a range of other professionals.

Our Inclusion Manager and SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator) is Mrs. Lane.

Please contact Mrs. Lane on 020 7272 5987 or email at admin@ctks.co.uk if you would any further information.

Felipe's special message to us all.

School Information Report

This report answers some of the most frequently asked questions about the school and special educational needs. The format of this report has been developed through:

  • consultation with parents/carers by Islington council
  • ongoing feedback from parents/carers and school staff at Christ the King

If you need any more information, please see our Inclusion Policy or contact Mrs. Lane through the school office or the 'contact us' form on the website.

Your child may have specific targets that they are working on that are recorded on an Additional Needs or SEN Support Plan. These plans will have specific targets on and will state how the target is going to be met. this may be through allocation of resources, support within the classroom or through an intervention. All plans are updated regularly and each target will be assessed to ensure children  are making progress. SEN plans are currently sent home and telephone meetings are offered to discuss individual plans.
