Christ the King Catholic Primary School
The Christ the King Children’s Champion were shortlisted to win an Islington Education Award in the category of Covid Champion in 2021. They were nominated because the team consistently demonstrated ambition, innovation and excellence in their work particularly throughout the pandemic.
To be shortlisted is a huge achievement, and we are incredibly proud that this team has been recognised.
Our Children's Champions work together to support children and families and provide pastoral care across the school. The team offer support for many issues children and families may face including attendance issues, routines, friendship issues and behaviour concerns and work alongside teachers to remove pastoral care barriers to ensure that all children are emotionally ready to learn.
Children's Champions greet children and parents at the gates each morning and wave them good bye at the end of the day. They are there to support and answer any questions parents may have. The Children's Champions support children throughout the day during both class time and during their free time to make and maintain friendships and provide opportunities for children to access a trusted adult in a less structured environment.
Speak to one of our Children's Champions if you have any questions about the school, school day or routines. They can also help with any issues relating to friendships and will support children coming into school and going home. They are very willing to help- stop and say hello!!
